Founder and President, Tigers of America
Bill Nimmo is founder and president of Tigers in America. Formed in 2012 to provide financial assistance for the relocation of tigers in this country that are surrendered or seized from exhibitors, roadside zoos, and owners unable or unwilling to care for them. Rescue assistance is made available for all big cats including Lions, Leopards, Cougars, Jaguars and Cheetahs, as well as shelter construction projects at any Sanctuary in the Tigers in America Network. Prior to the establishment of Tigers in America, Bill was Managing Director of Smith Barney Salomon Brothers and the subsequent acquisitions that culminated in the formation of Citigroup where he was Senior Vice President. Bill is presently on the Board of GFAS – Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries, and on the Board and Treasurer of Animal Grantmakers. He currently resides in New York City with his wife Kizmin and three rescued domestic cats
