Lori Grange
Strategy Officer, Hewlett Foundation
Lori Grange is Strategy Officer at the Hewlett Foundation (www.hewlett.org) in California, where she works with staff across all six program areas as they develop, implement, refresh and exit their strategies. She also leads foundation-wide implementation of Outcome-Focused Philanthropy, Hewlett’s framework for strategy. A member of the Animal Grantmakers board of directors, Lori has more than 20 years of experience in philanthropy. Before Hewlett, she was a senior director at the Pew Charitable Trusts, where she developed strategies on policy issues such as mass incarceration and health care for low-income kids. Before Pew, Lori directed a national fellowship program for public interest lawyers at a nonprofit organization in Washington, D.C. She also was a journalist at the Los Angeles Times. Lori earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism and philosophy from the University of Southern California and a J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley.
